9.  Do you have a specific suggestion on how PennDOT can improve work zones? If so, please describe.
  • Cover signs when not working. Do not leave flagman signs up when there is no flagman present.
  • Work zone signs remain in place and in effect long before/after work is actually being done. Drivers who use a marked road on a daily basis are inconvienced and tend to disreguard the warning signs after repeatedly finding no work being done. This could prove dangerous when road work begins.
  • Not at this time
  • Notify which lane is closed sooner and merge to a single lane sooner

11.  To help prioritize our services, which State Route in this section of Erie County needs the most improvement. Please note the route and add a brief comment regarding the service.
  • ROUTE 20 AT RT. 531 SHOULD HAVE A REGULAR TRAFFIC LIGHT (RED GREEN YELLOW) ALSO RT. 20 AND WEST NEEDS PAVED AND NEW LINES
  • Depot road needs to be wider. Lots of traffic problens at I-90 truck stop. Trucks do not use turning lane and cause back ups.
  • The intersection of Route 20 and Route 955 (Iroquois Avenue) in the village of Harborcreek is very dangerous (blind corners). Traffic does not slow down enough when going thru this intersection. Needs more warning signs and lights to slow the traffic down.
  • Saltsman Road and Buffalo in Harborcreek have areas where water lies in the tire tracks worn in the pavement. This causes dangerous side splashing, hydroplaning and, possibly, the loss of control.
  • At this time the main priority that I feel needs immediate attention is the area in front of the newly constructed Wal-Mart. The lines and barrels are very confusing and for the new shoppers not familiar with the road, I feel this could be a danger.
  • Rt. 89 from I-90 to Rt 20 right tire lane is settling and shoulders are narrow and not in good condition. also rt. 426 from NY stateline to North East borough road is rough in places and shoulder is poor. When driving from NY and approaching it feels like your aiming for a narrow farm path.

12.  Do you have any additional comments, issues or concerns?
  • Need traffic light at Depot road and route 20. Also at Clark Road and route 20. Very dangerous intersections!
  • Many old and new curbs at corners are not cut back enough to accommodate the turns of longer vehicles like school buses and trucks. (eg.Corner of Saltsman and Route 20)
  • Only that there seems to be a missing Speed limit sign coming into the village of Harborcreek from the West heading East. I am not sure if this is a state or township problem, but there is a lot of speeding all the way from WalBridge Rd. through the village, but there is no reduced speed limit sign around Depot Rd. There was at one time.
